Founded over three decades ago, Cavanagh Design was established with a singular vision: to bridge the gap between architectural elegance and environmental stewardship. What began as a boutique land assessment practice has evolved into a premier nationwide landscape architecture and arboricultural consultancy.
We believe every property possesses a unique natural topography and narrative. Our team of certified landscape architects, arborist consultants, and project managers work harmoniously to craft outdoor environments that feel both timeless and deeply personal.
ABOUT
Michael Cavanagh
Michael is a licensed Arborist, a licensed Landscape Architect, and a Master of Landscape Design.
He is an experienced Construction Project Manager and holds certifications in Geomancy (Land Energy Reading), and Invasive Plant Management.
Cavanagh Design is based in Rhode Island and provides services through the Northeast US and Canada, and Ireland.
He is also:
- A proud father of three adult children
- Magna cum laude graduate of Brandeis University, 1988, with a degree in Fine Arts
- A graduate and former trustee of the Conway School of Landscape Design in Northampton, MA. where—for over 50 years—sustainability and ecological stewardship have been hallmarks of design planning master’s level education and Landscape Architectural training
